Tori Drake – Prettiest Wreck Review

Review By Chad J Country

Who is Tori Drake

Tori DrakeTori Drake is someone many of us wont have heard of, Australians probably have but the rest of the world is only just catching on.

Yes, Tori hails from Australia, Sydney and although we may not have heard of her, she has had some exposure.

She has appeared on The Voice Australia twice, yes that’s right, twice. Now its hard enough to get on those shows once never mind twice, so that shows the promise she has. In her first performance she decided to sing a pop song, this was clearly a mistake as she is heart and soul country. It did however give her the chance to duet with the brilliant Keith Urban singing “Stupid Boy”.  that YouTube video went viral getting 5.4 million views. Those are the kinds of numbers that can change a life.

And they did, She joined Team LeAnn Rimes and made it to the top 12, no small feat.

Now she is spreading across the globe with fresh new songs and a very of the moment feeling.

The Song

Tori-Drake-Prettiest-WreckPrettiest Wreck (June 2026)

Prettiest Wreck is a break-up, getting over you, moving on song. It holds to a similar format to many other songs of this type.

It is well penned and musically very enjoyable although depending on what you are listening to the song through, the lyrics can be a little difficult to decipher some times.

The song has a Taylor Swift feel to it but rockier, which isn’t a bad thing, it actually lends to the subject matter and makes it all a little more believable. There is some good and maybe for some to rocky guitaring in the song, not to everyone’s taste but it adds to the feeling of the song giving it a strong pulse and gets your foot tapping. You can see where the influence of Keith Urban fits into her music.

You can hear the influence of the “Wolf Brothers”, the iconic Australian country band and the story is one from Tori Drakes own life. Amazingly it was written nine years ago and has only just made it to air.

The song is effectively about breaking up and seemingly getting over it, yet still being a mess inside, but super pretty on the outside , it seems to hint at wanting to see the ex boyfriend just to show him what he is missing.

The song is only 2:49 long, so even by country standards, that’s a short song, although it doesn’t feel it.

All in all a good performance and a song you could listen to again and again. Its not an ear worm but a decent song.
